NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Walterine Britt Mascagni, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Promise Hospital of Miss-Lou will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mascagni was born Dec. 2, 1927, on Bayou Macon in Franklin Parish, La., the daughter of Walter Wiley Britt and Gussie Gertrude Kimball Britt.

Mrs. Mascagni was an independent and strong-willed mother who loved her Lord, her family and her flower garden. She was most happy when visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the pride of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry J. Mascagni.

Survivors include two sons, Henry Joseph Mascagni Jr. and wife, Carol, of Lake Bruin, La., and Kenneth Mascagni and wife, Judy, of Shreveport, La.; five grandchildren, Jay Christopher Mascagni and wife, Mandy, of West Monroe, La., Kimberly Bennett of Alexandria, La., Jeff Mascagni and wife, Samara, of Little Rock, Ark., Sarah Bishop and husband, Justin, of Monroe, La., and Daniel Mascagni of Ruston, La.; and eight great-grandchildren, Madison, Layton and Millicent Mascagni, Rylee and Ryder Bennett, Paxton and Avery Mascagni and Coleman Bishop.

Pallbearers will be Sidney Green, Ty Britt, Justin Bishop, Charles Mascagni Jr., Modie Mascagni and Tommy Rouse.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to a charity of choice.
