Find your Santa hat, cup of cheer

If you are still nearly crashing into the Christmas tree in the middle of the road, you may be missing more than just your Christmas spirit.
You’re likely missing out on all the fun.
That famous downtown tree — hazardous as it may seem — was the focal point of attention just three weeks ago when our community kicked off the annual holiday celebration, Christmas in Natchez.
A crowd gathered at the tree for the lighting ceremony and the tree has remained a beacon of holiday cheer ever since, while the Christmas events moved to different locations in town.
The coming weekend is the last jam-packed one of the season, so grab your Santa hat and plan your sleigh ride through town.
Things kick off at 7 p.m. Friday with the Natchez Festival of Music’s “A Christmas Cabaret.” The night of musical entertainment will be at the City Auditorium, and attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and decorate their own dining tables.
Run off your meal first thing Saturday with the Jingle All the Way 5K Race across the bridge. Start at 8:30 a.m. at the Natchez Visitor Reception Center.
Then, relax with the family on the bluff all day for children’s games, dancing and ice skating from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come back Sunday afternoon for more.
Christmas in Natchez has been great fun so far this season, and we know the upcoming weekend won’t disappoint.
