MONTEREY — Services for Maude “Betsy” Calhoun, 100, of Monterey, who died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Monterey First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Young, the Rev. Mike Young and the Rev. Patrick Calhoun officiating.
Burial will follow at the Calhoun Family Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Calhoun was born July 22, 1912, in Mayna, La., the daughter of Walter Trisler and Minerva Trisler. She was a homemaker and a member of Eva Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.B. Calhoun; her parents; siblings, Verlie Morace, Merrile Paul, Mitchell Trisler, Frozene White, Melinda “Cutie” Trisler and three younger siblings; one grandson, James Richard Young Jr.; and one granddaughter, Dawn Calhoun.
Survivors include three sons, J.W. Calhoun and wife, Bobbie, and twins, Riley Calhoun and wife, Linda, and Rodney Calhoun and wife, Mary; one daughter, Enola Young and husband, Dick, all of Monterey; two sisters, Faith Gemar of Mayna and Juanita Paul of Deville, La.; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
