NATCHEZ — Services for Fannie D. Butler, 90, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. J.L. Hammitte officiating.
Burial will follow at Skinner Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Butler was born June 23, 1922, in Kingston, the daughter of Luella Thomas Lee and Abe Davis. She was employed by Jefferson Davis Hospital in housekeeping. She was retired. She was also a retired seamstress.
Mrs. Butler was Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mike Butler; her parents; two sons, Morris Lee Butler and Walter James Davis; one grandson, Jasper Lorenzo Butler; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Annie W. Reed and Leola Leverson; and two brothers, Alfred Wesley Sr. and Henry Wesley.
Survivors include for daughters, JoAnn B. McCullen, Thelma B. McKnight, Mary R. Hines and husband, the Rev. Samuel Hines and Deborah B. Hargrave and husband, Ike, all of Natchez; two sons, Leon Butler Sr. and wife, Lena, and Johnnie Davis and wife, Dorothy, of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Joseph C. Wesley and wife, Julia, of Birmingham, Ala.; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; five nieces; five nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Minister Dywon Lewis Sr., Jerry Fletcher, Devereaux Malveaux, Larry Wesley, Derel Scott and Minister Roderick Lewis Sr.
