NATCHEZ — Services for Marie Stanley Biglane, 96, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Biglane was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Jackson, the daughter of Harry F. Stanley and Mary Magruder Stanley.
She graduated from Belhaven College. Mrs. Biglane was a long-time resident of Natchez where she was a member of Jefferson Street Methodist Church, Pilgrimage Garden Club, Garden Club of America, and First Families of Mississippi. She was actively involved in her church activities and in many local charities. She was always ready to lovingly and generously help her family, friends, and those in need. She was a supporter and past board member of the Protestant Home Orphanage and was known as an expert bridge player.
Mrs. Biglane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, D.A. Biglane; one step-daughter, Charlotte Biglane Nobile; and two brothers, Charles and Lloyd Stanley.
Survivors include her step-son, James M. Biglane of Natchez; two nieces, Chris Hendry Winter of Terry and Mary Jane Grant of El Paso, Texas; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Natchez Children’s Home Services or the Jefferson Street Methodist Church.
