NATCHEZ — Services for Edna M. Dromgoole Springs, 76, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Eastern Star ceremony at 6 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Springs was born Oct. 17, 1936, in Natchez, the daughter of Allen and Edna Robinson Dromgoole. She attended Brumfield High School and worked at Harold Miller and Zippy Food Mart. She was retired.
Mrs. Springs attended Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church where she once served a church secretary. She was also member of the choir, Pastor Support member, Sunday school member and Deaconess.
Other memberships included Adah Grand Chapter O.E.S., Deborah Chapter No. 5 and Pinkie Jackson Amaranth Court No. 1.
Mrs. Springs enjoyed cooking and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Springs; two sisters, Virginia Dromgoole and Melin D. Strickland; one brother, Willie Dromgoole; one brother-in-law, Ernest Strickland; and one nephew, Allen C. Strickland Sr.
Survivors include three sons, Curtis Dromgoole of Natchez, Glenn A. Dromgoole and wife, Judy, of Garland, Texas and Kenneth Dromgoole of Dallas; four grandchildren, Kirsten Dromgoole, Ahmad Dromgoole, Qiana Johnson and Wessley Reed; one aunt, Estelle Perkins; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be family members.
