FERRIDAY — Services for Jewel E. “JE” Harmon, 57, of Ridgecrest, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Wesberry officiating.

Burial will follow at Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Wisner under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Mr. Harmon was born Sept. 9, 1955, the son of Jewel Edgar Harmon Sr. and Lena Ray Ezell. He was a lifelong resident of Ridgecrest and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Harmon was loved by all who knew him and he never met a stranger, never saying unkind words to anyone. He was a family man and loved his family with all his heart.

Mr. Harmon was a firefighter and a medic, and was very proud of his service to the community. After his injuries, he spent a lot of his pastime watching movies. This was his hobby and he enjoyed this with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wilma McLain.

Survivors include his loving devoted wife, Sherry Harmon; one daughter, Kristy Harmon; three sons, Haydan Stringer and wife, Dana Tanner, Caleb Stephens and Clay Stephens; two grandsons, Kadin Harmon and Brayden Stringer; two sisters, Darlene Regan and Dorothy Harmon; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Barry Gunter, Caleb Stephens, Clay Stephens, Nicky Regan, Cody Johnson and Haydan Stringer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Phillips.
