JONESVILLE — Services for JoAnn Cowart, 74, of Jonesville, who died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Rapides General Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Bass officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Cowart was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Hattiesburg, the daughter of Ivy Edward Patten and Mattie Harrel Patten. She worked as a bookkeeper and was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Clifton Cowart Sr.; her parents; one daughter, Bonnie Gay Allen; one grandson, Mark Harrison Cowart Sr.; five brothers, David Patten, Roy Patten, Dale Patten, Bobby Patten and Billy Patten; and two sisters, Louise Wright and Joy Chapman.
Survivors include one son, Ernest Clifton Cowart Jr. and wife, Carey, of Missouri; three daughters, Janice Little and husband, Bo, of Manifest, La., Cindy Boyd and husband, Stanley, of West Monroe, La., and Michelle Hayworth of Missouri; one brother, Leon Patten of Sandy Lake, La.; one sister, Geneva Bass of Sandy Lake; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
