Tensas boys tops Vidalia in overtime

TALLULAH, La. — After a 20-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Vidalia High School boys basketball team seemed poised to tally its first win of the season.
But Tensas High School fought back to tie it 73-73 and force overtime Thursday in the Madison High School tournament, and the Panthers went on to win, keeping the Vikings winless.
Andre Watkins led in scoring with 26 points for Tensas, and the Panthers’ Sammie Burks added 15 points. Author Gray tallied 12 points for the Panthers.
Vidalia led 37-30 at the half and 53-47 at the end of the third.
The Vikings’ Julius Wilson scored 25 points, and Isiah Thompson finished with 21 points. Deion Brown added 16 points for Vidalia
Vidalia (0-11) will play Lake Providence at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Madison tournament.
