NATCHEZ — Services for Sonya Braswell, 61, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. today at Stanton Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Braswell was born May 1, 1951, in Natchez, the daughter of James Howard Jackson and Earline Pennington Jackson. She was a member of Stanton Baptist Church.

Mrs. Braswell was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy Jackson; and one sister, Alice Wiggins.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Braswell; two daughters, Tonya Sloan and husband, Steve, of Vidalia and Shannon Wilson and husband, Purvis; six grandchildren; one sister, Rhonda Kemp; one cousin, Hoppy Swaggart; and four special friends, Florence Felter, Robert Atwood, Frank and Nell Lee.

Pallbearers will be Purvis Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Ethan Melton, Steve Sloan, Robert Atwood and Hoppy Swaggart.

Honorary pallbearer will be Yerby Braswell.
