Floyd Glynn Diehl

NATCHEZ — Services for Floyd Glynn Diehl, 49, who died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Little Rock, Ark., after a long illness, will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 12, at Stratton Chapel at First Presbyterian Chuch.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 13, 2013, in Tylertown City Cemetery in Tylertown.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Diehl was born in Little Rock, Ark., the son of E.S. “Bill” Diehl and Nancy Holmes Diehl.
Mr. Diehl grew up in Natchez and graduated from South Natchez-Adams High School in 1981. He attended Bellhaven College and the University of Mississippi.
Mr. Diehl love the history of the state of Mississippi and the local history of Natchez. His knowledge of history served him well for more than 20 years during his employment in the hospitality industry while working at Natchez Deluxe Tours, as director of Natchez Pilgrimage Tours and as a carriage driver for Southern Carriage Tours. He personally interacted with thousands of Natchez visitors through the years and was a great host for his hometown.
Mr. Diehl moved to Starkville in 2008 and was the manager of The Veranda restaurant.
Mr. Diehl’s exuberance for life, intelligence and quick wit was an enjoyment for his family, friends and any fellow fan of the Ole Miss Rebels, New Orleans Saints or St. Louis Cardinals.
Mr. Diehl was preceded in death by his parents of Memphis, Tenn., and his sister Sky Diehl of Pensacola, Fla.
Survivors include those dear to his heart, Kristen Ater Pate, her husband, Adam, and their daughter, Aubrey of Monroe; sister Eloise Diehl Leffingwell and her husband, Don, of Little Rock, Ark.; niece Kelly McNeese and her husband, Jake, of Hurley; and a number of lifelong friends.
