NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Leroy Davis Jr., 63, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Davis was born Dec. 12, 1949 in Adams County, the son of Leroy and Gertrude Davis. He was retired from the International Paper Mill. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Theodore Richardson; one sister-in-law, Rosalie Richardson and a special cousin, Joe Davis Jr.

Survivors include his children, Tonette Mix, Errica Davis-Chatman and husband Ernest, and Dion Davis, all of Natchez; two siblings, Dorothy Hargrave and husband, Leonard, of Weed, Calif., and Girtha Lee Davis of Elk Grove, Calif.; two aunts, Pearl Duck and Adortha “Dot” Price; nieces Lucy Richardson of Sacramento, Calif., Felecia Borden and husband, Curtis, of Moss Point, Wanda Jackson and husband, Tracey, of Sacramento, Lutisha Stockdale and husband, Gerald, of Huntsville, Ala., and Hazel Tincer; nephews Tarran Richardson and wife, Nina, of Sacramento, Kirven Richardson of Natchez, Jerist Roberts of Sacramento, Malcolm Washington and Taran Richardson of Sacramento, Derrick Dixon, Marlon Dixon and Dwayne Dixon; two special children, Melton Malone and Dietra Malone of Natchez; special friends Cordell Wimberly, Victoria Carr, Jarvis Cotton and Debra Wimberly; and a number of family and friends.
