Willie J. Letcher and Brenda Letcher of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Sylvia Letcher to Stephen Berry, son of Dr. Henry Berry and Lela Berry of West Point.

The bride-to-be is a 1994 graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Alcorn State University where she majored in industrial technology.

She is the granddaughter of the late Leon Duncan and Ethel Baldwin Duncan of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is a 1989 graduate of West Point High School and a graduate of Alcorn State University where he also majored in industrial technology. He is employed by Medtronics in Memphis, Tenn.

He is the grandson of Moran Stephen and Mary Stephen of West Point.

The wedding will be Jan. 12, 2013.
