NATCHEZ — A money-hungry burglar settled for some ham and cheese after breaking into Paisano’s Italian Grotto this weekend and discovering the cash register contained only a few dollars.
Restaurant owner Charles Johnson said he found the back door pushed in and a wooden board placed over the door for extra security on the ground Sunday morning when he went to Paisano’s. The burglar had taken approximately $20 from the register, two deli hams, a block of cheese and a six-pack of beer.
Natchez Detective Jerry Ford said no arrests have been made.
