Big second half downs Lady Rebels

AMITE, La. — Monday night’s non-district game between the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels and the Oak Forest Academy Lady Yellow Jackets turned out to be a game of two halves.
ACCS controlled the action for much of the first half and took a 22-20 lead into halftime. But when the second half began, Oak Forest took over. Led by Lindsey Neal’s 27-point performance, the Lady Yellow Jackets ended up defeating the Lady Rebels 48-40.
Both teams did struggle to get shots to fall in the first quarter. Yet ACCS ended up with a 9-4 advantage. Oak Forest played better offensively in the second quarter, but the Lady Yellow Jackets still trailed by two points at the half.
With Neal leading the way, Oak Forest outscored ACCS 17-9 in the third quarter for a 37-31 lead. The Lady Rebels were not able to go on a rally of their own in the fourth quarter to get back in the game.
ACCS (8-11) was led by Tory Laird with 14 points and Ashleigh Williams added 10 points.
The Lady Rebels next play on Friday night at Hillcrest Christian School.
Oak Forest boys 56, ACCS 46
The Adams County Christian School Rebels got 18 points from Brandon Walker, but it was not enough as they lost to the Oak Forest Academy Yellow Jackets Monday night.
ACCS got off to a slow start and was never able to recover. The Rebels trailed Oak Forest 11-8 after one quarter of play and 27-21 at halftime.
Tyler Stockstill scored nine points and Lester Wells added seven points for the Rebels.
With the loss, ACCS fell to 7-12 overall. The Rebels play at Hillcrest Christian School Friday night.
