Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Matthews announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Matthews, to Ryan Rachal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Eidt, all of Natchez, and the late John Paul Rachal.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She is employed by Natchez Community Hospital.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Guillot of Metairie, La., and Mrs. Luther Matthews of Cleveland and the late Luther Matthews.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Trinity High School in Natchez and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez. He is employed by Byrne Insurance Agency in Natchez.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shupe of Natchez and the late Mrs. Sandra Jones Fulmer and the late Ms. Glenda Smith Benefield.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center.
