Soccer roundups: Sacred Heart eliminates CHS

HATTIESBURG — The Cathedral High School varsity girls soccer team ended their season with a 6-0 loss to Sacred Heart Tuesday in the first round of the MHSAA Class 1A/2A/3A South State Playoffs.
Four goals in the second half by Sacred Heart sealed the win against Cathedral.
Franklin County girls 2, North Forrest 0
MEADVILLE — Jordan Cummings and Tryneese McKnight each scored a goal for Franklin County as the Lady Bulldogs defeated the North Forrest Lady Eagles Tuesday night and advanced to the second round of the MHSAA Class 1A/2A/3A South State Playoffs.
Franklin County (16-3-1) will take on the winner of the St. Joseph Catholic/Our Lady Academy game either Friday or Saturday at a time to be determined.
Franklin County boys 8, North Forrest 0
MEADVILLE — Franklin County got multiple goals from Hoby Mullins, Greg Queen and Zayne Mullins in the Bulldogs’ easy win over the North Forrest Eagles in an MHSAA Class 1A/2A/3A South State Playoffs first-round game Tuesday night.
Hoby Mullins scored three goals while both Queen and Zayne Mullins scored two goals. Brendan Beach had one goal for the Bulldogs.
Franklin County (19-0-1) will take on the winner of the Pass Christian/St. Andrews game on Saturday in a second-round game.
