NATCHEZ — Who wants to eat without showering after they’ve worked up a sweat burglarizing a house?

That was apparently the question on the mind of a burglar on Martin Luther King Jr. Street earlier this week.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, a woman contacted the sheriff’s office Monday about a burglary at her residence after coming home to find the back door open.

While some valuables were taken from the residence, the victim told investigators she also believed that the burglar took a shower while in the house and stole a raw chicken from the refrigerator.

Other items taken included prescription medication and a gold ring.
