SHAW — A Shaw resident died Friday after an apparent heart attack sent him into Cocodrie Bayou where he was fishing.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agents and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered the body of Louis Fisher, 84, at approximately 9:45 a.m.

Hedrick said his deputies took over the incident after the wildlife agents recovered the body.

Initial investigations showed a possible heart attack or other medical condition caused Fisher to be thrown from his boat, Hedrick said.

An exact cause of death is unknown until an autopsy is complete.

According to family, Fisher was running trotlines in Cocodrie Bayou.
