NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Verlin Crum McDaniel, 89, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Jackson and family of New Orleans officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. McDaniel was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Gloster, the daughter of Wiley Crum and Florence McCallister Crum. She was a long-time member of Westside Baptist Church and worked in the Maranatha Baptist Mission.

Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. McDaniel; one sister, Pearline Dawson; and three brothers, Troy Crum, Edward Crum and Pete Crum.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Carol Chavis of Natchez and two brothers, the Rev. Roy Crum and Homer Crum and wife, JoAnn, all of Baton Rouge.
