NATCHEZ — Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Donner Kaiser, 89, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 11, 2013, at her residence, were 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.

Mrs. Kaiser was born July 23, 1923, in Gibson City, Ill., the daughter of Henry Donner and Agnes Brown Donner. She met the love of her life in front of the Eola Hotel. She dedicated her life to her family and her husband, Powell, and never traveled far because Powell had to be in his own bed every night.

Dot and her late husband spent a number of years golfing and fishing together. She also enjoyed duplicate bridge games with a number of friends.

Dot will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She will be remembered by many for her great generosity and thoughtfulness.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters; and a number of golfing and bridge buddies.

Survivors include her five children, Pauline Lambert and husband, James, Rosie Hails, Winnie Kaiser, Donna Jones and husband, Sam, and Bubba Kaiser and wife, Rhonda, who all remained in the Natchez area to be near her; Dot loved spending time with her five grandchildren, Will Hails, Kaiser Hails, Jake Kaiser, Adam Kaiser, Lauren Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Zoe, who brought a smile to her face even in her last days.

Pallbearers were James Lambert, Sam Jones, Will Hails, Kaiser Hails, Jake Kaiser and Adam Kaiser.

The family is very grateful to their mom’s wonderful caretakers, Ethel, Dianne, Vera and Kathy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, P.O. box 369, Ferriday, LA 71334 or Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.
