MERIDIAN — Memorial services for Charles E. Yates, 68, of Meridian, who died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Owen officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the directions of James F. Webb Funeral Home in Meridian.

Mr. Yates was retired from The Meridian Star as a paper carrier. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends. He was always ready to tell a good story and have a good time.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ludie Yates; five sisters, Hazel, Erma, Bonnie, Bernice and baby sister, Shirley; and one brother, Buford.

Survivors include two daughters, Nikki Rawson and husband, Scotty, and Amanda Griffin and husband, Doc; two sons, Jay Yates and wife, Amy, and Andy Yates and wife, Karen; seven grandchildren, Josh Yates, Kent Yates, Reagan Bohl, Colton Bohl, Chloe Griffin, Zach Griffin and Chad Rawson; one sister, Velma Yates; one brother, Chas Yates; special friend, Faye Cochran; best friend, Malcolm Whitehead; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family extends a special thanks to the ICU, CCU and fifth floor east of Anderson Hospital for their great care.
