032813 AddieTThompson obitpicHOLLY SPRINGS — Services for Addie Tucker Thompson, 86, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 25, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Serenity Funeral Home in Holly Springs.

Burial will follow at Red Banks Cemetery, in Red Bank, under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A private service was held Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the family home with the Rev. Sanders officiating.

Mrs. Thompson retired at the age of 80 from Addie’s Antiques in Natchez to spend time with her family. She was Southern Baptist.

Addie was a published poet and songwriter. She was honored by a number of states for her work with disasters.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Charles, Aubrey and Jimmy Thompson and one grandson, “Chuckie” Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, James; two daughters, Judy “Sissy” Weatherly of New Orleans and Natha Jean “Peanut” Jackson of Faulkner; seven grandchildren, Mary Ann Weatherly, Truman Weatherly, “Jamie” Thompson, Joy Thompson, Misty Hudspeth, Justin Thompson and Joshua Thompson; and a number of great-grandchildren.
