MEADVILLE — Services for Annie Laura Summerall, 84, of Meadville, who died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville.

Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Wilkinson County under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Annie enjoyed playing softball, going on vacations and camping with her family. She also enjoyed listening to and watching the ball games.

Volunteering at the Meadville Nursing Home was also very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy “Red” Summerall; her parents; Sidney Nathaniel and Annie Mullins Thornton; one daughter, Carolin Summerall Ezell; three brothers, Sidney Thornton, Rudy Thornton and an infant brother; and six sisters, Bessie Higginbotham, Pearl Holland, Lucille Leonard, Mae Ivery, Earnestine McCartney and infant Imogene Thornton.

Survivors include five children, Annie Pearl Cox of Bude, Betty Mae Wilkinson and husband, Frank, and David Nathaniel Summerall, all of Meadville, Vickie Marie Miller and husband, Rayford, of Roxie, and Dalton Wayne Summerall of Woodville; one brother, Herbert Thornton of Meadville; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
