NATCHEZ — It took a scorecard playoff to determine first and second place after play was completed Friday afternoon at the 20th annual Natchez-Adams Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble at Duncan Park.

In the end, the Great River-sponsored team of Kinney Carlton, Kenny Jackson, Chad Huber and Cloyce Hinton ended up the winner thanks to a birdie on hole No. 1 — the second hole of the scorecard playoff.

Second place went to the Natchez Community Hospital team of Lloyd Trisler, Bill Lambert, Mike Cook and Dr. Kofi Kumi, which had a par on No. 1.

Both teams blistered the course and ended up with rounds of 17-under-par 54. The winning team had 12 birdies and eagles on No. 10 and No. 12.

“I played pretty well. We had a lot of fun,” Huber said. “Both Kinneys and Cloyce made a lot of birdies. Kinney Carlton almost made a 1 on No. 6.”

The runner-up team had 12 birdies to go with eagles on No. 5 and No. 12.

“We had a good round. Just made a lot of long putts today,” Trisler said. “Beautiful day. I had a blast.”

Third place went to the Doug Brown team, which finished one shot back at 16-under-parr 55 as it had 14 birdies and an eagle on No. 10.

Nineteen teams ended up participating in the four-man scramble.
