JONESVILLE — Services for Laura Mae Clark Bird, 87, of Jonesville, who died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Grace Home in Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Gary Norris and the Rev. Jack Colclasure officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bird was born July 18, 1925, in Archie, La., the daughter of Neely Hudson Clark and Irene Scarbrough Clark. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesville.

Mrs. Bird was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janet Ann Hughes; four brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, H. James Bird; two sons, James Bird and wife, Jane, of Eutaw, Ala., and Larry Bird of Jonesville; one sister, Murlene Richardson and husband, Gene, of Williamsburg, Va.; two grandsons, Tracy and Luke Bird; four granddaughters, Jennifer Ricken, Rachel Nichols, Rebecca and Sarah Bird; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Bird, Luke Bird, Drew Nichols, Tom Ricken, Kenny Davis and Dale Bird.

Memorials may be made to Grace Home, St. Francis Cabrini or the Baptist Children’s Home.
