Ira T. Everhart

NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Ira T. Everhart, who died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Natchez National Cemetery with the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating with military honors under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Everhart was born Dec. 8, 1926, the son of Ira L. and Ina N. Gann Everhart.

Everhart served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired boilermaker. He was loved by his family and his special friend Pauline Jackson of Natchez. He will surely be missed by all that knew him. He loved to fish with his brothers when he could. He was an avid outdoorsmen at heart.

Everhart is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alvin Everhart.

Survivors include three daughters, Beth Hite, Debbie Young and Sandra Ezell and husband, Jerry, all of Natchez; two sons, Ira T. Everhart Jr. and wife, Maggie, of Montgomery, Ala., and Mark Everhart and wife, Cheryl, of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Allen Everhart, Daryl Hite, Christopher Hite and wife, Jennifer, of Flowood, and Tara Brown; a great-grandson “Scooter” Brown; two brothers, James Everhart and wife, Shirley, of Natchez, Jerry Everhart and wife, Betty, of Holden, La.; and a special friend, Pauline Jackson of Natchez.

Pallbearers are Daryl Hite, Christopher Hite, Scott Gray, Perry Everhart and James Kirk Haydell.
