MONTEREY — Services for Scharlene Morace Whitehead, 68, of Monterey, who died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eva Church of God of Monterey with the Rev. Whit Bass and the Rev. Gordon Finley officiating.
Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home in Alexandria.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. today until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Whitehead was a retired beautician.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Whitehead; her parents, Charlie and Wessie Morace; one brother, Neal Morace; and two sisters, Bobbie Morace and Glenda McKey.
Survivors include four daughters, Needra White and husband, Vernon Jr., of Ferriday, Deedra Keith and husband, Ricky, and Loree McCall and husband, James, all of Monterey, and Tonya Goodman and Shelly Denham of Lafayette; one stepson, Jody Otwell and wife, Jessica, of Atlanta; one brother, David E. Morace and wife, Dianne, of Monterey; three sisters, Karen Wascom and husband, Charles, of Jonesville, Connie Bourque of Monterey and Cindy Bass and husband, Lank, of Jonesville; seven grandchildren, Tonya L. Stamey and husband, Ricky, of Monroe, La., Bubba White and wife, Rachel, of Vidalia, Matthew Goodman and wife, Lindsey, of Olla, Ted Keith and wife, Emily, of Columbia, Keith Goodman and wife, Mindy, of Jena, Charlie Kae McCall and fiancé, Jake Deweese, and Creighton McCall, all of Monterey; two step-grandchildren, Savannah and Grace Otwell of Atlanta; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Powell, Dennis Wascom, Ricky Stamey, Billy Rouse, Jake Deweese and Barnett Knapp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Wascom and her five grandsons.
Memorials may be made to the Lone Pine Cemetery Fund.
