JENA, La. — Graveside services for Leto Lopez Lanius III, 71, of Baton Rouge, who died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jena Cemetery in Jena, La., with the Rev. Mike Poole officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, La.

Mr. Lanius was born Feb. 24, 1942, in Monroe, La., the oldest son of Leto “Buddy” Lanius Jr. and Ethel Tradewell Lanius.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Julie Lorraine Lanius; one son, Christopher Ryan Lanius; and mother-in-law, Thelma Blackmore.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Blackmore Lanius; two sons, Thomas Lanius and wife, Lyda, and William Lanius and wife, Trisha; one daughter, Lori Lanius Dye and husband, Rick; one stepdaughter, Christina Morales Blount and husband, Jason; one stepson, George Blackmore; father-in-law, George Blackmore and wife, Edie; seven grandchildren, Erin, William and Hunter Lanius, Hallie Dye, Destiny, Desiree and Elijah Blount; one brother, Tommy Lanius and wife, Shelia; two sisters-in-law, Melody Smith and Andrea White and husband, Fred; three nieces, Gretchen Tiser and husband, Jason, Leigh Hancock and husband, Jeff, and Heather Malone and husband, Matt; and his beloved dog, Beaux.

A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Hospital and The Carpenter House who cared for him throughout his illness.
