NATCHEZ — Services for Pearlie Byrd, 88, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Byrd was born Nov. 3, 1924, in Franklin County, the daughter of Rosa Osteen and Ernest McGee Sr. She was Baptist and served as a mother of the church.

Survivors include three daughters, Pearlie M. Williams, Della Conrad and Ella Edwards, all of Natchez; five sons, Ernest Byrd and wife, Clara, Steve Byrd and wife, Regina, James Byrd, Christopher Byrd, all of Natchez, and Johnny Byrd and wife, Margaret, of Houston, Texas; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Stella V. Judge of Chicago, Josie Lee Lacey of Woodville, Ora Stewart and Ruth McGee, both of Bude; two brothers, Ernest McGee of Bude and John Bruce of Detroit; and a number of other relatives and friends.
