NATCHEZ — Three people have been arrested in connection with the so-called “yellow-gun” robbery on Old Meadow Lane.
An Old Meadow Lane resident filed the robbery report with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office May 8, stating that a young woman had come to his door asking for $2.
A short time after he gave the woman the money, a man knocked on the door of the residence, knocking the victim down and pointing what the victim described to investigators as a yellow gun at him, taking his wallet and stealing the money from it, Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said.
Mayfield told The Natchez Democrat in a story published Monday that a suspect who was charged with armed robbery was connected with the robbery. However, Monday the sheriff said he had mixed up cases and confused the suspects with another robbery.
Those arrested in connection with the yellow gun robbery are Heather Rache Lacrosse-Kelly, 23, 40 Ratcliff Road, Tia Neshae Groom, 18, 320 Eastmoor Drive and Ravonte Rosha Jenkins, 19, address unknown.
Mayfield said Jenkins is the suspect alleged to have attacked the victim, while Lacrosse-Kelly is reportedly the woman who asked him for $2.
Both Jenkins and Lacrosse-Kelly have been charged with armed robbery.
Groom has been charged with accessory after the fact. The sheriff said Groom was charged because she was reportedly with Jenkins and Lacrosse-Kelly at the time of the robbery.
