NATCHEZ — Services for the Rev. Arthur Abe Reed, 77, of Natchez, of Natchez, who died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. J.L. Hammitt officiating.

Burial will follow at Skinner Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

The Rev. Reed was born April 16, 1936, in Natchez, the son of Sammie and Lillie Reed.

The Rev. Reed was a minister of the gospel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Annie W. Reed.

Survivors include a loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Carolyn Shannon Reed; seven children, Supermia S. Scott, Deon M. Shannon, both of Gulfport, Carol Reed of Natchez, Stephen Bailey and wife, Monica, of Atlanta, Katrina Littleton and husband, Bobbie, of Meadville and Quaniece R. Walker of Illinois; four sisters-in-law, Jerri Dean Fortune and husband, Larry, of Vidalia, Linda Prater, Shirley Ann Shannon, both of Natchez, and Alma Jackson of Chicago; two brothers-in-law, Robert Shannon and wife, Gennette, and Cedric Shannon, all of Natchez; 10 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
