VIDALIA — Services for Larry Darnell Fortune, 55, of Vidalia, who died Friday, May 24, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Full Gospel Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Troy Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Fortune was born July 26, 1957, in Vidalia, the son of Johnny Simpson Sr. and Willie Mae Fortune-Simpson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Tina Fortune.

Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Shannon Fortune; four step-children, Vince Shannon and wife, Mary, of Kaufman, Texas, Hoza Shannon and LaMonica Barnes, both of Garland, Texas, and Armond Shannon of Natchez; five sisters, Willie Lee Spurs and Curtis Lee Johnson, both of Lowell, Mass., Elvone Fakes of Ferriday, Thelma Simpson and Velma Simpson, both of Vidalia; three brothers, Robert Fortune and wife, Candice, of Ferriday, Johnny Simpson Jr. and Charles Fortune, both of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
