MONTEREY — Funeral services for James Michael McMillin Sr., 65, of Monterey, who died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Monday with the Revs. John Rushing and Scott Ensminger officiating.
Burial will follow at Monterey First Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Monterey First Baptist Church.
James McMillin was born April 12, 1948, in Ferriday, the son of Mike and Edith Mae McMillin. He was a resident of Monterey, retired from International Paper after 40 years of service and was a mechanic for Rig Masters of Monterey. He was a deacon at Monterey First Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran.
Mr. McMillin was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Michael McMillin Jr., and one sister, Kathy Coon.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mabelene McMillin; two daughters, Tracie Valazquez and husband, Juan, of Monterey, and Kristie Poole of Monterey; three grandsons, Christopher Hughes, Joseph Poole and Nicholas Poole; two granddaughters, Kaslyn Wilson and husband, Johnny, and Emily Brashier; three great-grandsons, Mayson, Benjamin and Gavin Wilson; one brother, Barry McMillin and wife, Jo, of Carthage, Texas; and one sister, Kay Ewing and husband, Mike, of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers will be Vance Cross, Gene Baker, Richard Young, Kevin Clark, Doug Ward, Steve Cross, Marcus Paul and Jamie Morace.
