NATCHEZ — Services for Cassandra Smith, 42, of Natchez, who died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Baptist Church with the Rev. James Washington officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Smith was born Aug. 23, 1970, in Columbia, the daughter of Clopeus Smith and Bessie Smith Davis. She was a cook, employed by Barnes Fish Market, Louisiana State University and the Briars.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother; four children, Christopher Smith Goree and wife, Shakayla, of Hattiesburg, Courtney Smith Goree, Calandra Smith and Cameron Smith; one grandson, Jon’Keveon Smith; five sisters, Forestine Carter, Margaret Carter, Dianna Smith, Deatrice Johnson, all of Natchez, and Lela Smith of Texas; one uncle, Willie Carter and wife, Gertrude; 13 nieces and nephews, Damone Johnson, Deforest Johnson, Terrell Bailey, Jordon Johnson, Mikeon Smith, Brandy Davis, Youlanda Smith, Joshua Carroll, Jalisa Smith, Julius McCray, Royce Davis, Dan’yell Johnson and Octavious Clark; special friends, Germaine Rogers and Demetius McNulty; friends of the family, the Rev. Matthew Minor and wife, Celia; and other relatives and friends.
