Marijuana leads to Ferriday man’s arrest

Ferriday — Ferriday police responding to a call of fired shots discovered a local man reportedly in possession of 125 grams of marijuana.

Brandon Allen, 22, 183 Robert Lewis Drive, was arrested Wednesday on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of resisting arrest.

Allen was sitting on the steps of a nearby residence on Fifth Street when police responded to the scene.

After questioning Allen about the location of the shots, the officer asked Allen about the contents of a backpack lying nearby.

The officer reportedly found 125 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the backpack. Allen reportedly ran from police, but was ultimately arrested and transferred to the Concordia Parish Jail.

No bond was set on Allen as of late Wednesday afternoon.
