PATTERSON, La. — A celebration of life for Carlie T. Paul Sr., 81, of Patterson, La., who died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, La., will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson with the Rev. Randy Plessala officiating.
Burial will follow at Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ibert’s Mortuary.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Paul was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Monterey, the son of Roy Paul Sr. and Lula Gray Paul. He was a resident of Patterson for 55 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Paul started at a young age at what would become a lifelong career — working in the oil field industry. Later in life, he started his own oil field service company, T-Paul’s Inc. After 30 years of hard work, long hours and making lifelong friendships in the oil field industry, he sold his company and retired. His retirement years were spent enjoying life with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed “afternoon meetings” with his coffee buddies.
Mr. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy Paul Jr. and wife, Marijean; one son-in-law, Charlie Melvin; one brother-in-law, Preston Welch; and two nephews, Ronnie Paul and Lil Richard Paul.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Bobbie Oxedine Paul of Patterson; one daughter, Vickie Paul Melvin of Patterson; one son, Carlie T. “Teddy” Paul Jr. and wife, Rita F. Paul of Montgomery, Texas; one sister, Aloha Paul Welch of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Paul of Patterson and Nathan Paul of Montgomery; three great-grandchildren, Kannen, Elijah and Cy’lon Paul, all of Patterson; one step-granddaughter, Tasha Lombas Luke and her four children; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be J.W. McCann, Tim McCann, Mark Smith, Al Woulard, Ken Schexnayder and Creighton Olwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louie Siracusa, Kay Vinson, Clifford Oxedine, Dan Oxedine and David Oxedine.
