VIDALIA — Services for Johnny Simpson Jr., 64, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Christopher Robinson and the Rev. Julius McCray officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Simpson was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Vidalia, the son of Johnny Simpson Sr. and Willie Mae Fortune.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James “Butch” Davis and Larry D. Fortune.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Fortune and wife, Velma, of Ferriday and Charles Fortune of Vidalia and five sisters, Thelma Simpson and Velma Simpson, both of Vidalia, Elvone Fakes of Ferriday, Willie Spurs and Curtis Lee Johnson of Lowell, Mass.
