Mrs. Joanna Henry Bernard of Natchez announces the engagement of her daughter, Sue Ann Bernard, to Timothy James Werre Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy James Werre of Memphis, Tenn.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Ben Neville Bernard of Natchitoches, La.

She is a 2004 graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a 2008 cum laude graduate of Louisiana State University, earning a degree in mass communications. She received a juris doctorate degree from Mississippi College in 2011, and is currently employed by the Mississippi Court of Appeals in Jackson.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan S. Henry and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bernard of Natchitoches.

The groom-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Munford High School in Munford, Tenn., and a 2008 graduate of the University of Memphis, earning a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. He is currently employed by WJTV as a sports anchor and reporter.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Aney of Mauston, Wis., and Mrs. Arlene Burmeister and the late Rev. Alvin Werre of Pickwick, Minn.

The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at The First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.

A reception will follow the ceremony.
