NATCHEZ — Services for Roosevelt “Buddy” Moore Jr., 75, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, June 28, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenberg officiating.
Burial will follow at Bedford Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Moore was born May 16, 1938, the son of Roosevelt Moore Sr. and Addie Moore. He was self-employed.
Mr. Moore was Baptist and enjoyed attending church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lauretta Moore, Mary Paxton and Bessie Moore; four brothers, Jimmy Moore, Albert Stewart, Robert Moore and Frederick Moore; and a special niece, Wayvette Moore.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Moore; three sons, Larry Moore and wife, Adrienne, Aundra Moore and Michael Moore; three daughters, Pamela Bradley and husband, Donald, Demetrius Moore and Yvette Moore; one stepdaughter, April Moore, all of Chicago; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Moore and wife, Mamie, and Ben Moore, all of Natchez; two sisters, Annie Jones and husband, Howard, of Natchez and Marguerite Moore, of Ferriday; three special nieces, Lena Moore, Mary Proby, both of Natchez, and Vatrice Moore of Chicago; a special great-nephew, Malik Sylvia of Ferriday; a special friend, Shelia Mitchell; two children he raised, Kesha Mitchell and Tamia Mitchell, both of Chicago; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
