VALLEJO, Calif. — Services for Rosie Washington Etter, 61, of Vallejo, Calif., formerly of Ferriday, who died Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Vallejo, will be at 11 a.m. today at Second Baptist Church in Vallejo.

Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Vallejo under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Vallejo.

Ms. Etter was born Nov. 29, 1951, in Natchez, the daughter of George and Audrey Washington. She was a retired nurse from San Quentin Correctional Facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Sylvester, Richard and James Washington.

Survivors include two sons, Cleveland and Jacoby Etter, both of Vallejo; five sisters, Alberta Schiele and husband, Theodore, Novella Turner and husband, Eddie, Dorothy Poole, Lucille Boxley and husband, Charles, all of Ferriday, and Katherine McNally and husband, John; two brothers, George Washington Jr. and wife, Idelle, all of California, Roscoe Washington and wife, Bobbie, of Ferriday; nine grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
