FERRIDAY — Four cars on Eighth Street in Ferriday were spray-painted with profanity early Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Richard Madison said the vehicles were parked at multiple residences between Georgia and Carolina avenues. One of vehicles was parked at Greater St. Reed Church.
“All the cars were in walking distance,” Madison said. “It looks like they walked down the street and spray painted them in order, but I think it was a random act.”
The first complaint came in at 4 a.m., with subsequent complaints coming minutes later.
Madison said he hasn’t identified any suspects and the investigation is still ongoing.
As a result of the vandalism, Madison said he is going to increase patrols in the area.
“I’ll put a unit out there tonight to see if anything happens,” Madison said. “If juveniles are out past the 10 p.m. curfew, we are going to cite the kids’ parents.”
