FERRIDAY — Services for Juanita Martin, 91, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at West Carroll Care Center, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.

Burial will follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Martin was born March 14, 1922, in Woodworth, La., the daughter of David Burton Burrough and Gertrude Burrough.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church since 1948. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, William Clifford Martin; her parents; one brother, Mason Burrough; one sister, Mae Ramsey; one infant daughter, Leta Martin; and one son, Melton Ray Martin.

Survivors include one daughter, Leta Faye Terrell and husband, J.T., of Lake Providence, La.; one daughter, Barbara Jean Saxton and husband, E.S. “Buddy”, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister, Joyce White of Elizabeth, N.C.; a number of nieces and nephews; two special nephews who she raised as her own children, Jim and Ronnie Burrough; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Junior Tarver, Jackie Martin, Wayne Tarver, Ronnie Martin, Donnie Byrnes, J.D. Martin and Edward “Corky” Abies.

Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Sontoyo.
