NATCHEZ — Services for Amanda Parker Baker, 86, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 12, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bo Swilley and the Rev. Michael Speed officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. Monday until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Baker was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Natchez, the daughter of Robert Lee Parker Jr. and Ellen Buchannan Parker.

She was a retired secretary for the Washington school system and was and avid volunteer for many local charities. She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. Mrs. Baker was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Holly Bernie Baker; one daughter, Holly Bobbette Bryant; two brothers, R.L. Parker and Ernest Parker; and one sister, Mary Hary Sojourner.

Survivors include one daughter, Rita Hart Bailey and husband, Robert “Bob” Bailey Sr.; six grandchildren, Holly Myers and husband, Greg Myers, Debbie Partridge and husband, Todd Partridge, Robert Bailey Jr. and wife, Tammy Bailey, Naomi Blackmon and husband, Sammy Blackmon, Joey Bryant and Jeremy Bryant; 13 great-grandchildren, Sloan and Zach Pintard, Olivia Myers, Paige and Hart Martinez, Alicia and Noah Young, Hunter Bailey, Devin, Beth, Trent and Missy Blackmon and Austin Bryant; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Bailey Jr., Joey Bryant, Jeremy Bryant, Zachary Pintard, Trenton Blackmon and Hunter Bailey.

Special thanks to Melissa Garner, Georgia Campbell and Lance Gatlin for the special care that was given to Mrs. Baker.
