COLLINS — Services for Hulon P. Mooney, 86, of Seminary, who died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, will be at 9:30 a.m. today at Sanford Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. James Broome, Wayne Woolwine, Bennett Lowery, Kenneth Sanford and Rory Dill officiating.
Burial will follow at Bullock Cemetery under the direction of Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Mooney, a Covington County native, was retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Mooney was a member of Sanford Missionary Baptist Church and served as a former deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Sanford Masonic Lodge for more than 65 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion A. Mooney and Nora Thompson Mooney; his wife, Louise Locke Mooney; one sister, Rhoda Farmer; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Mixon.
Survivors include three daughters, Elaine McCrory and husband, Mike, of Natchez, Linda Bagwell and husband, Gary, of Seminary and Kathy Little and husband, Jimmy, of Runnelstown; one sister, Myrtle Riels of Petal; one sister-in-law, Lucille Mixon of Seminary; eight grandchildren, Anna Ward, Mandy Garrett, Michael McCrory, Chris Bagwell, Brian Bagwell, Lenna Little, Casey Little and Jim Little; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
