MOBILE, Ala. — A Mass of Christian Burial for Myrtle Jean Cowart, better known as “Jean,” who died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Ala., will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Pine Crest Cemetery under the direction of Pine Crest Funeral Home in Mobile.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.
A reception will follow at St. Dominic’s Murphy Center, 4156 Burma Road in Mobile.
Mrs. Cowart was born Nov. 27, 1932, in Brewton, Ala. She was a founding wife, mother, grandmother and a dedicated friend.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Hugh Cowart; one son Darren Cowart and wife, Ginger, of Natchez; one daughter, Michele Manry and husband, Alex, of Mobile; four grandchildren, Alex Dunaway and wife, Devin, of Winnfield, La., Jacob Cowart and Jordan Cowart, both of Natchez, and Haley Manry of Mobile; one sister, Virginia Vautier of Mobile; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Dominic’s Capital Campaign.
