CENTREVILLE — For the second year in a row, the Centreville Academy Round-Robin Softball Tournament has been canceled because of heavy rain in the area Saturday morning.
And perhaps out of frustration, Lady Tigers head coach Mark Mann said he may move the tournament to another part of the season.
“Everybody wants to get out there and get the rust off,” Mann said. “But once again, Mother Nature won.”
Mann said the coaches from each team that was scheduled to participate in the tournament — Centreville, Adams County Christian School, Trinity Episcopal and Franklin Academy — were just as disappointed as the players about the tournament being rained out.
There has been a change in Centreville’s scheduled regarding its home and away games against Parklane Academy.
Centreville (0-1) was originally scheduled to host Parklane on Monday, but because of a scheduling conflict, that has been moved to 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Lady Tigers’ game at Parklane that was supposed to take place Tuesday will now take place at 6:15 p.m. Monday. Centreville will not have a game on Tuesday.
ACCS (1-0) will play host to Class AAA Jackson Academy 6:15 p.m. Monday.
The Centreville Tournament would have also been the head-coaching debut for Trinity Episcopal’s Miranda Smith. Instead, that will now take place at 4 p.m. on Monday at Porter’s Chapel Academy.
