FERRIDAY — Services for Erick Wesley Johnson, 38, of Ferriday, who died Monday, July 22, 2013, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 19, 1974, in Natchez, the son of Walter U. Johnson Sr. and Barbara McCoy Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one son, Erick W. Johnson Jr.; three sisters, Stephanie Johnson, Sarah Johnson Watson and Miranda Johnson Anderson; and one nephew, Walter U. Johnson III.

Survivors include his wife, LaKeitha Weatherspoon Johnson; three children, Zerick Johnson, Shaquille Weatherspoon and LaKia Weatherspoon, all of Ferriday; his father of Shreveport, La.; three brothers, Dyron Johnson and wife, Cassandra of Ruston, La., Walter U. Johnson Jr. and wife, Tangela, and James Johnson Sr. and wife, Yolanda; one sister, Cynthia Johnson, all of Ferriday; mother-in-law, Phyllis Weatherspoon; one sister-in-law, Tiffany Weatherspoon, both of Pineville, La.; one grandchild, Ky’shawn Weatherspoon of Ferriday; and one godson, Demarion Bowman of Ferriday.
