FERRIDAY — Services for Mearl Ray Harris, 85, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Franklin Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Cullum and the Rev. Preston Holder officiating.
Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harris was born April 15, 1928, in Columbia, La., the daughter of J.H. Lynch and Lillie Lynch.
Mrs. Harris was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S.K. Harris; one son, Thomas Harris; her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Harris and wife, Marie, of Ferriday and Ronnie Harris and wife, Kay, of Vidalia; one daughter, Delores Paine of West Monroe, La.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Hedrick, Randy Russell, Jamie Sherman, Darrell Crozier, Juan Moreno and Mitch Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Montpelier, Zack Cothern, Tommy Barron, Terry Guillory and Jay Barron.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity or church of choice.
