FERRIDAY — William Russell, 60, of Vidalia, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Russell was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Ferriday, the son of Ferry Alvin Russell and Nellie Pearl Russell.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved by many and an unforgettable personality. All those that knew him were blessed by his friendship.

Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Geri Dean Russell; two sons, William Armiss Russell of Monterey and Randy Wayne Russell and wife, Pam, of Broussard, La.; one daughter, Amber Faye Russell of New York, N.Y.; one grandson, Grant Sk Russell; his mother and also Barbara Russell; one brother, Rusty Russell and wife, Susan, of Laurel; one sister, Loretta White and husband, Morgan, of Ferriday; and a number of friends.
